60 Days 'Til Halloween Mosaic MCAL

Welcome, crocheter!
I'm so excited to have you join me for this Mystery Mosaic Crochet Along!
Over the next several weeks, we'll be crocheting our way toward Halloween, one little section at a time. Each release will reveal another piece of the mystery, but the finished design will remain a secret until the very end.
HOW IT WORKS
Start : Sep 1st, 2026
End : Oct 31, 2026
A new section of the pattern will be released throughout the CAL, giving you plenty of time to crochet along at your own pace.
Each week, a new portion of the chart will be posted right here on the MNM Yarn House blog. Check back each week for the latest written instructions and chart sections, and crochet along as the mystery unfolds!
You can crochet each section as it's released or bookmark each post and work at your own pace. There's no race and no pressure - just grab your yarn and settle in. If you're anything like me, and don't want to wait all the way until Halloween to get all the sections, the full pattern will be released October 1st, 2026 on Ravelry. The MCAL will still be uploaded weekly here for free and will stay up on this blog in dedicated sections.
A LITTLE MYSTERY...
The finished design has a name, but I'm keeping that part secret for now.
I can't wait to get started. Please follow along on Facebook, where all communications, progress photos and questions will be asked and answered.

ABBREVIATIONS USED (US TERMS)
sc - single crochet. In mosaic crochet, all single crochets are worked in the back loop only.
dc - double crochet. The double crochet goes into the front loop of the stitch two rows below. For example, when you are working row 10, the dc will go into the front loops of row 8, which will be the same color as the one on your hook. The dc will sit on the front of your work and will cover up a sc. Skip the sc.
bs - border stitch. This is a standard single crochet worked through both loops. Each row begins and ends with a border stitch,
ch - chain
PATTERN NOTES
This pattern is an overlay mosaic crochet pattern which uses two basic crochet stitches to create a thick fabric featuring a picture or intricate design. Instead of using the regular double crochet stitch, you can use the anchored double crochet stitch, which removes the flaps and ridges from the back side of the project. The blanket is worked with the front of your work facing you at all times. Each row is started on the right and works to the left, then finishes off at the end of each row.
In mosaic crochet, colors generally switch back and forth between rows. This pattern includes written instructions as well as a graph, so use whichever works best for you!
This pattern is written for right-handed crocheters but can easily be adapted for left-handers. Simply work each row from the end to the beginning or use the chart from left to right.
When starting your project, instead of cutting the yarn at the end of the foundation chain, you can chain 1 then turn and work row 1 that way. The chain 1 doesn't count as a stitch and is only used to bring your yarn to working height.
